THE LIVING ROOM
Size: 500 sq feet
Program: Wil Kucey Gallery
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Three audio files, dying houseplants with hidden stereos; wood, vinyl, string, acrylic paint, paper; watercolours in artist-made skewed frames. Audio collaboration with Ziyang Wu.
Based on photographs from the Corbusier Archive, specifically the residential projects of Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in the first half of the 20th century, this installation is a meditation on the relation between the development of perspectival spatial representation and Modernist articulations of the ideal home.
